Volunteering
Be part of our journey
Volunteers are a big part of what we do at Dunesforde. With your help, we can give the vines the level of care and attention they need to ensure the future sustainability of the vineyard. Sharing our passion and our journey with others is richly rewarding, creating new bonds and friendships is at the heart of why we wanted to make wine in the first place. For us, wine is about the people and the place that made it, our volunteers, our community are what make our wines so special. Sign up to volunteer via the calendar.
Join us all through the year…
We welcome helpers throughout the year, it is a great day of companionship with the opportunity to learn new skills and work outdoors among the vines. Our Vineyard Manager has updated the training manuals with videos to share some of the knowledge we have learned in order to make the volunteering experience as rewarding as possible.
Volunteering Days 2024
A huge thank you to our 120 volunteers who helped us pick over 9 tons of grapes, in 2023. Quite simply, we couldn’t do it without you.
2024 brings a whole calendar of new volunteering opportunities here at Dunesforde, check our calendar for dates.
If you are not registered to receive volunteer updates or would like to know more please get in touch.
On volunteering days, please arrive at 8:45am for a briefing and a 9:00am start. Lunch is included (with wine!).
What to expect…
A typical day volunteering at Dunesforde will start in the morning with a welcome from Emma, our Vineyard Manager. Emma will explain what needs to be done, provide all the necessary training as well as a briefing on the equipment, and a run through our health and safety policy. Alongside Emma’s guidance you will get the opportunity to ask questions about the vines and how we care for them. We will ensure you are well looked after throughout the day with refreshments and that it’s a safe working environment.
The benefits…
We know that improving our well-being is the key to a happier, healthier life. Part of this is being active, connecting with others and learning new skills. Volunteering at Dunesforde can be a hugely rewarding way to do this. You’ll work outdoors helping to create wines in one of the most northerly regions in the world. As well as meeting our passionate team, you’ll also meet other volunteers; people from all walks of life who share a common interest in wine. Volunteering is a great way to see the vineyard up close and to gain a first-hand insight into what we do at Dunesforde. Join us throughout the year and you will learn how to care for a vine in order to produce the best quality fruit, working in harmony with the local environment.
Volunteering with your business…
We have a beautiful 25 acre nature reserve which we continue to maintain and improve upon. If your business wants to escape the office and get hands-on, then do get in touch as we’d welcome the help and can offer a rewarding day away from your desk.
