From a humble start selling washing machines on Doncaster high street, Peter Davenport has enjoyed a varied and colourful career that includes being a senior journalist on The Times covering major events around the world, meeting and interviewing high profile personalities. He travelled with Pope John Paul and took tea in an Irish castle with Fred Astaire among many other memorable encounters. He sailed on a Royal Navy aircraft carrier in the Indian Ocean, covered the army in Northern Ireland and flew with the RAF to the Falklands. Later, as founder of a number of public relations agencies, he advised sponsors of the Commonwealth Games and the first Round the World Yacht Race and the Boards of various businesses on corporate reputation and crisis communications.
Peter also managed his grandson’s rock band who were flown to Los Angeles to record and perform in Hollywood at just 14 years old and went on to play at the Tour de France when it came to Yorkshire and then in front of 20,000 strong crowds on a tour of major arenas around the UK and Ireland. He has also authored a number of non-fiction books.
